RecommissionCompleted July 2024
The Story
Amanda inherited this Charger R/T from her grandfather and wanted to make it her daily driver. The car ran but needed mechanical refreshing and some modern conveniences added without changing its character.
Challenges
- 440 running rich and getting poor mileage
- Manual drum brakes inadequate for modern traffic
- No air conditioning in hot climate
- Charging system weak and unreliable
- Steering vague and tiring on long drives
Solutions
- Rebuilt and tuned 440 with modern ignition for improved efficiency
- Front disc brake conversion maintaining stock appearance
- Vintage Air system installed for invisible A/C
- Upgraded to high-output alternator and new wiring
- Power steering conversion using Mopar components

What Amanda Foster Says
“Grandpa's Charger is now my daily driver thanks to Frank. The A/C and power steering made all the difference, and he kept it looking completely stock. I get compliments at every gas station.”
