The Story
James found this El Camino SS in his late uncle's barn. Despite sitting for 12 years, the car was complete and rust-free thanks to the dry storage. James wanted to get it running reliably without a full restoration - just safe and drivable.
Challenges
- Engine seized from extended storage
- All fluids contaminated or evaporated
- Fuel system completely varnished
- Brake system frozen and leaking
- Tires dry-rotted and flat-spotted
Solutions
- Freed engine with penetrating oil and careful rotation
- Complete fluid flush including transmission and differential
- Rebuilt Quadrajet carburetor and replaced fuel lines
- Rebuilt all brake components and converted to silicone fluid
- New tires, battery, belts, and hoses throughout

What James Wilson Says
“Frank got my uncle's El Camino running in two weeks. He knew exactly what a car needs after sitting that long. It's not perfect but it's safe and reliable - exactly what I wanted.”
— James Wilson
